Angel in the Fire is a book about victorious life and triumphant death. It is a spiritual approach to the universal experience of pain and death, with emphasis on the strength available to the believer through his identification by faith with the eternal Spirit of Christ, in whom is Life, Light, and never-ending consolation.

It is my prayer that many may find comfort and strength from these meditations. It is not intended to be a sad book, but rather, a message of hope and an inspiration to faith. For death comes to all, and we can face it as a friend or fear it as a foe. Death is, indeed, and enemy in itself, but we can see only Death, or we can refuse to countenance it and see instead the loving Head of God reaching through the experience to grasp our hand and lift us over the threshold and into the Father's House.
